Halifax MP Linda Riordan acted as milk monitor for the day in Whitehill Community Academy in celebration of World School Milk Day.

To mark the event, the school encouraged children to drink milk and understand the nutritional benefits milk provides.

At the moment it’s just the under fives who qualify for free milk at school.

Linda Riordan MP said: “It’s really important, particularly in these times.

“It’s only free up to a certain age, it’s not good enough - we need to do more.”
