Greetland Academy, Halifax, gave back some basic skills to pupils in a week of first aid, sewing, emergency training, care and compassion skills, cooking, collaborative work and public speaking workshops.

Greetland Academy principal Amanda Bennett said: “Back to Basics Week allowed children to develop key life skills that will improve their life chances.

“It’s been an exciting week; seeing how pupils deal with the new challenges.”

The extra-curricular week is linked to personal, social, health and citizenship education.
