Year Five pupils from Christ Church School in Pellon took part in two days of activities linked to their topic on World War two.

Children cooked wartime soup, tried their hand at make-do-and-mend sewing, made wartime Christmas cards, gift tags and wrapping paper and were digging for victory by creating miniature wartime gardens and vegetable characters.

Class Five teacher Clare Woollin said: “The children have really enjoyed the topic and have produced a variety of excellent work. They all looked fantastic in their WWII costumes which really brought the experience to life for them.”
