YOUNG culture vultures in Norland learned the African art of drumming for a school music project.
Children at Norland School spent a day learning songs and beats from African drumming company Rhythm Bridge.
The musical lessons tied in with the school’s harvest festival week, which this year had a theme of water and children raised money to build a well in Africa.
Each pupil also decorated and filled harvest boxes for the festival, which they will hand out to older people in Norland. Any leftover boxes will be given to Overgate Hospice.
Head teacher Samantha Dawson said: “The children really enjoyed the drumming. They all took part and made a lot of noise but in a very rhythmic way.
“It was a lovely end to the week.”
