A Calderdale special school has been rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted for the fourth inspection running.
Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, Skircoat Green, Halifax, excelled yet again when inspectors were at the school on November 28 and 29 last year.
The inspectors’ report said: “The exceptional quality of teaching ensures that pupils progress extremely well throughout their time at school.
“The quality of education and care provided throughout the school, including the sixth form, is outstanding.”
Headteacher Martin Moorman said: “We are delighted with the result. It reflects clearly the hard work of the staff - not just the current staff - but seven members of staff have left in the last few years and they have all played a part in the legacy of the school.
“The staff are a privilege to work with.”
“We keep our feet on the ground and don’t consider ourselves the finished article yet.
“There’s more we want to do, for example, we want to get more of our young peopleinto employment - the improvement never stops.
The school uses specialist equipment to help teach its children.
“We are fortunate to have lots of community support over and above what local authority funding we are given.
“Special schools means special prices because it’s very specialist equipment.”
Mr Moorman said the school would be drawing on ideas from other schools to help it keep moving forwards.
“We will visit other special schools and share ideas with them to keep up with developments.”
“What pleased me about the report was that it reflected well on our younger staff who were observed.
“I’m most pleased though with our young people. They don’t always choose to come to a school like ours but it is a privilege to work with them.”
