Pupils and teachers at North Halifax Grammar School got lessons in using one of the internet’s biggest names in school.
The Google in Education North of England Summit was a two-day event at the Illingworth school featuring talks and workshops on effective ways of using Google Apps.
North Halifax was chosen as one of a number of schools to host sessions during 2013 as the internet giant branches out into improving IT within the education system.
People of all ages got their hands on Google Chromebooks (the companys own laptop) for the first time and school leaders from across the region were able to get tips and advice on administering apps in their schools.
Leeds based next-generation IT services provider Refractiv Limited led one of the many interactive sessions throughout the weekend.
Ian Weatherhogg, from the firm, said: “The session provided a great hands-on introduction to Apps Script and lots of guidance to benefit all those working in the education sector.”
