A long standing governor who has helped steer Brighouse High School through several major changes has retired.

John Illingworth has retired from his position as governor and trustee at the school in Finkil Street. He has helped the school through a series of major changes over the past 20 years including Grant Maintained and Foundation status and most recently Academy conversion.
Headteacher Liz Cresswell said: “We are extremely grateful to John for the support and wisdom he has offered over many years. I will miss him on both a personal and professional level.”
