PUPILS at Carr Green Primary School, Brighouse, have made it on to the shortlist for a Yorkshire School’s Conservation Award from Yorkshire Agricultural Society and Yorkshire Water.
The winner will be announced at the Yorkshire Show next week.
The award recognises the school’s commitment to providing outdoor learning opportunities.
Yorkshire Water’s “One Million Green Fingers” volunteers helped Carr Green to redevelop their existing outdoor area, providing them with plots where they could grow vegetables, find out more about nature and enjoy an area where they could learn outside the classroom.
Deputy headteacher Paul Mashinter said: “We are absolutely delighted to be short-listed for this award.
“The children, staff, parents and grandparents work extremely hard.”
