A special delivery from eight-year-old Alexandra Ainley will bring some Christmas cheer to children at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

Alexandra’s mum Jane said: “She is really into charity work and has supported lots of projects this year. She was baking buns for Save The Children and dressing up for Children In Need.

“She loves shopping with me in the charity shops and is always donating things. She is a really thoughtful young lady and when she grows up wants to be a teacher, a vet or a midwife.

“We saw an appeal in the Courier about three years back for presents for the children who are in hospital over Christmas.

“We thought it was a brilliant idea and have done this every year since.

“But this year we are asking other people to join us and donate a few presents to the children’s ward to help make their Christmas as happy as they can.”
