A PLAYGROUP set up by parents in 1973 has received a glowing report from Ofsted inspectors.
Up to 45 children regularly attend sessions at the community centre in Stainland Road, Sowood.
“Safeguarding procedures are secure and all the required checks have been carried out on the staff and committee members.
“Staff have created a welcoming and inclusive environment, they are friendly, helpful and experienced, and parents receive regular information via newsletters and daily feedback.”
The inspectors described the overall quality of provision as good.
“The children are well behaved, happy, settled and enjoy learning - they are developing a positive self image and show they are comfortable with themselves.”
The playgroup, which employs six staff, is supported by Calderdale Council.
