The new year will bring a new era for Calder High, Mytholmroyd, as it moves towards becoming a co-operative trust school to raise standards.

The new structure would see the formation of The Calder Learning Trust - a co-operative membership trust - in February 2014.

Members would include Brooksbank School in Elland, Calderdale Council and the Co-operative College.

Jeanne Watson, Calder High’s executive headteacher, said: “Calder High School will work with a range of partners to form a trust which will support the school on its journey of rapid and sustained improvement.”

The governing body will meet on January 14 to take a final decision.
