Hundreds of high-flying students and three inspirational leaders were the toast of the district at Calderdale College’s Graduation Ceremony and Parade.
Hundreds of people lined the streets of Halifax to see the students and Incredible Edible Todmorden’s Pam Warhurst CBE, Totally Locally’s Chris Sands and Christopher Bailey OBE, Burberry Chief Creative Officer, march from Halifax Town Hall to Victoria Theatre as part of the celebrations.
When inside the theatre, Chris, Pam and Christopher all received Inspire Awards for their work in inspiring others in Calderdale, while other award winners were Calderdale College FD Early Years student Lindsey Jane Emerton who received the Outstanding Achievement Prize, and HNC Public Services student Ciaran Gilmartin who was named Inspirational Student.
Via its Twitter account, the college said: “A big thank you to everyone who made @CalderdaleCol #HigherEd Graduation a great success! #BeInspired.”
Also in the parade, which was led by Halifax Boys’ Brigade, were the Deputy Mayor of Calderdale, Coun Lisa Lambert, VIPs and staff.
