Married life has been a fabulous journey for Stewart and Olga Cameron who celebrated their golden wedding with a family meal.
“We love each other a lot and are a team,” said Olga.
Stewart said their married life is great and a fabulous experience.
They met at Elim Church, Hopwood Lane, Halifax, and married at Christ Church, Pellon.
Their first home together was in Sowerby Bridge and they lived at Clifton, Brighouse, for eight years before moving to Flower Acre, Elizabeth Street, Elland, late last year.
Stewart’s first job was as a hatching assistant at poultry firm Thornber’s, of Mytholmroyd.
He later spent several years as a postman in Halifax and retired from the Halifax Building Society after 20 years’ service as a security guard.
He is a keen football fan and follows both Huddersfield Town and FC Halifax Town.
Olga started work at ladies outfitters Farrar-Mays, Halifax, and later became a support assistant at several schools. She enjoys reading and listening to music and used to be involved in amateur dramatics.
The couple have two daughters Nicola and Joanne, five grandchildren and one-great grandchild.
