Judges from Yorkshire in Bloom were in Elland to see some of the key beauty areas for this year’s competition.

Ms Beatrice Myers and Mr Lee Senior, Yorkshire in Bloom judges, were shown around the town by members of Elland and District Partnership, and Safer, Cleaner, Greener Group.

As well as residents’ gardens, the group visited Old Earth Primary School, the Riverside Park, Southgate Precinct, Hullen Edge Park, Overgate and Victoria Road.

Judges and members were then entertained to lunch by members of the E.D.P at the Cartwheel Youth Club.

Formal judging for Yorkshire in Bloom summer awards takes place between July 4 and July 22, with the results announced on July 29.

Elland District and Partnership are holding their next meeting tonight.

It takes place at 7pm at Willow Court on Victoria Road in Elland.
