BUSINESSES in Elland are joining forces to put on a fashion spectacular.
Rebecca Sedgewick, who runs Anon Lingerie in Victoria Road, has found more than 45 other local businesses who are helping to stage a fashion show on July 29.
The fashion show will raise money for nearby Overgate Hospice.
More than 30 models, wearing goods from seven local shops, will make their way down the catwalk.
The suppliers for the night are Anon Lingerie, Thrifty Frocks, Brown Sugar, Always & Forever, Flair, Sage & Onion and Calder Screen Print.
Rebecca said: “I have been overwhelmed by how fantastic and suporting other local businesses have been, especially since I’m a new kid on the block, and how many new friends I have made through arranging this evening.”
Image and Body coach Helen Williams will make a speech with the Karen Binns Stage School taking to the stage.
Music will be provided by live acts and a “decorate a bra” competition will also take place.
“I’m hoping this event will bring the Elland community and shopkeepers together for a night of fun and fund-raising,” she said.
“It is a charity close to many people’s hearts, especially in the Elland area.
“Many of my customers, friends and family know someone who has passed away at Overgate and we are all aware of what a fabulous cause it is.
“Over the past six months I have been so absorbed setting up my own little underwear boutique that I think it’s about time I gave something back,” said Rebecca.
She said she hopes it will also help boost the town’s Totally Locally campaign. The fashion show, which starts at 7.30pm, is at Bertie’s Banqueting Rooms, Elland.
Tickets cost £15 and are available from Anon Lingerie or by calling Rebecca on 07939 631291.
