£110,000 fuel poverty funding

A total of 140 homes will benefit from a £110,000 project.

Northern Gas Networks, Pennine Housing and Community Energy Solutions are providing gas mains connections to Halifax properties previously without a mains gas supply.

Homes benefiting are at Stansfield Close, Crossley Gardens, Rothery Court and Cherry Court.

The cost is being fully funded by Northern Gas Networks through its programme to tackle fuel poverty.

It will take around six weeks to fit the homes with full gas central heating systems.

Work to replace the existing electric storage heaters will be carried out by Pennine Housing which is part of the Together Housing Group.

Chief executive Tom Miskell said it was committed to providing the best housing stock for tenants.

The Halifax project is the latest in a series carried out by Northern Gas and CES but the first time the partnership has worked with Pennine.
