A block of flats that had become a blot on the Sowerby Bridge landscape will be demolished next month after asbestos is removed.
The electricity supply to the empty and vandalised York House in Beech Road has already been disconnected.
Once the asbestos has been stripped out - which is due to take between two and three weeks - the block is due to be demolished next week (from Monday, November 11).
Windows had been smashed and subsequently boarded up and walls had been tagged by vandals since tenants moved out months ago.
The site will be seeded with grass until its long-term future is decided.
