THE council is getting better at tackling fly-tipping and is on course for an “effective” rating due to more enforcement and clean up work.
A fast-track system has removed rubbish at 300 locations. There have also been several high-profile prosecutions with more in the pipeline.
Fly tipping is being rigorously investigated with perpetrators prosecuted, said council environmental health manager Peter Broadbent.
Environment spokesman Coun Barry Collins said: “There is no hiding place for fly tippers in Calderdale. We are on their case.
“We are determined to make our borough a cleaner and healthier place.”
