A group of remote-control car lovers prepared for their 40th anniversary by hosting the fourth round of the national British Radio Car Association series.

The Yorkshire Radio Controlled Model Racing Car Club in Stainland Road, Halifax, saw drivers competing in the 1/8th section of the series.

Among them was Halifax man and current UK champion Tim Wood.

Tim came second in the overall race, with Kyle Branson winning after leading from start to finish.

This weekend the club hosts its 40th anniversary and is inviting members of the public to go along and have a go at driving a model car on the circuit. Communications Officer Graham Hale said: “We’re proud to host such an event.

“It was a great day and we’re really pleased to have Tim Wood here.”

The public can practise driving the cars tomorrow, with the race meeting on Sunday.
