FC Halifax Town 2 Harrogate Railway: Massive win for Shaymen
TOWN boss Jim Vince was delighted with his side's win over Harrogate Railway at the Shay last night - even if it was a bit of a struggle in the second half.
The Shaymen dominated the opening 45 minutes as they roared into a two-goal lead through Lincoln Adams and Michael Barnes only for the visitors to hit back after the break.
But they held on for a 2-1 win to close the gap on Unibond One North leaders Durham and that was all that mattered to the manager.

"It is a massive win," he said. "At 2-0 the game is won, even though Harrogate applied pressure in the second half.
"At this stage I don't care what the football is like, it is about winning.
"We have to make sure we get three points every game and winning last night will do our confidence the world of good.
"Even though we were a little fortunate in the second half I thought we deserved the points."
Colwyn Bay continued to maintain the pressure on Town and Durham with a 3-2 win at Chorley while Newcastle won 3-2 at Garforth and Ossett beat Mossley 3-0 as the race for promotion hots up.
"Whoever goes on a run and wins their games will be in pole position," said Vince, whose side entertain Woodley Sports at the weekend.
"I said there would be too many twists and turns from here to identify who will be champions.
"We just have to take care of what we are doing."
Town played well in the first half, carrying on their form from Saturday's trip to Durham as they created plenty of chances.
And Vince felt the fact his players faded was down to their efforts on the plastic pitch in the north east.
"I think the pitch on Saturday took a lot out of the players," he said.
"The boys' fitness levels are very good and I think it has to be down to the surface on Saturday.
"Durham lost on Monday night and that shows it is difficult to play on their pitch then play another game quickly after that. But I thought the first half was terrific."
Junior Brown missed last night's game with a sore hamstring and Cavell Coo came off early in the second with the same problem.
