FC Halifax Town: Town secure replay victory
FC Halifax Town set up an FA Cup first qualifying round trip to Northern League Ryton with a 3-1 win at Silsden last night.
Ashley Stott scored twice in the first half with Jonathan Smith bagging the third late on.
And having watched the two teams battle out a goalless draw at the Shay last weekend, manager Jim Vince was delighted with his side's efforts in the preliminary round replay on a difficult Cougar Park pitch.
"I was proud of the players and the fans should be as well," he said. "Silsden had a spell of 15 or 20 minutes in the second half. You will always get that away from home, but we coped with it.
"I think that over the two games we deserved to progress."
