FC Halifax Town v Curzon Ashton: Must win for the Shaymen
TOWN will move back into the play off places if they beat promotion rivals Curzon Ashton in this afternoon's Unibond One North clash at the Shay (3.0).
And caretaker boss Nigel Jemson is relishing the prospect of turning the tables on the visitors who knocked the Shaymen out of the top five nine days ago.
Curzon are a point in front of Town with a game in hand - they have four left compared to the Shaymen's three - and that makes a Town victory essential.
"We have to go out and win the game," said Jemson. "If we can do that it will give us a great opportunity.
"We have to go out with all guns blazing and take the game to Curzon.
"Victory would put us above the opposition and might just put them under pressure in the remaining games."
The need to win adds pressure for the Town players, but Jemson said they should be looking forward to playing in a game with so much at stake.
"If you can't be up for a game like this you should not be in the profession," said Jemson.
"The supporters have been fantastic and they are hungry for success. It will be a great atmosphere.
"These are the games you always want to play in."
Despite the fact Town failed to win at Ossett on Friday, Jemson was happy with the response he got from the players in his first game in temporary charge.
"There were a lot of good performances on Friday and the players were very disappointed not to have won the game," he said.
"They played with passion and that's what we are looking to take into today's game."
Jemson has no fresh injury concerns and will be able to include Paul Evans and Damian Allen despite their red cards in Friday's 2-2 draw.
The caretaker boss could be in a position to include Ritchie Sutton, but with the sent-off duo set to miss the final game of the season at Chorley, he may resist the gamble to include the defender who suffered a hamstring injury at Skelmersdale.
