FC Halifax Town v Harrogate Railway Athletic: Easy win for Shaymen

FC Halifax Town 3 Harrogate Railway Athletic 0 Town eased to their 10th home win in the league with goals from Richard Marshall, Nicky Gray and Mark Peers in this afternoon's Unibond One North clash at the Shay.

Town enjoyed the best of the early chances, forcing a number of corners, but Ryan Crossley and Steve Payne both glanced headers wide of the target.

Scott Phelan tried his luck from distanbce, but his shot was saved and Richard Marshall hooked a ball across the face of goal that was eventually cleared.

James Dean was denied by a save from Railway keeper James Mann as he latched onto a Marshall flick.

And the breakthrough came after 24 minutes when Marshall headed home from an Aaron Hardy cross.

Harrogate had the chance to level three minutes later, but Jonathan Hedge saved from Nicky Darker.

At the other end, Town had the opportunity to double their advantage but Gray's shot was easly saved.

Mann saved well from Crossley and Gray before Town doubled their advantage just past the hour mark, Gray breating the offside trap on the right and firing into the roof of the net.

Dean curled one wide and was denied by the keeper before Mark Peers made it 3-0, firing home from Gray's low left wing cross.
