FC Halifax Town v Trafford: Show some pride - boss

NIGEL Jemson has demanded that Town's players show pride in the shirt when they entertain Trafford tomorrow (3.0).

The caretaker boss has not completely given up on a place in the Unibond One North play offs despite being four points behind rivals Curzon Ashton with two games to play.

He does, however, admit it is a very long shot but insists there is still plenty to play for in the final home game of the season.

"We have to make sure that we keep going for the final two games of the season," said Jemson. "There are still six points to play for and the players have to show some pride.

"As a group of players we have failed to deliver this year. We have let the supporters down.

"All season we have played as individuals and not as a team.

"The players will look at the table the same as everyone else and they know it is doubtful we will get into the top five.

"But I want to finish with six points in the bag so everyone can take something into the close season."

Jemson looks certain to be without striker Ashley Stott and defender Mark Hotte for tomorrow's clash.

Stott suffered an ankle injury in Monday's defeat to Curzon, although it has proved to be severe ligament damage rather than a break.

Hotte dislocated his shoulder with around 20 minutes of the game remaining and is still in some discomfort.

Stott's absence is likely to mean a start for David Brown as Paul Gedman, a substitute in the last two games, is not yet ready to start as he returns from an ankle problem.

"I think deep down Paul knows he is not 100 per cent ready to start, but he wants to play for Halifax Town," said Jemson.

"His ankle still swells after he has played, even after the brief cameo appearances he has made in the last two games, and it might be unfair to ask him to start tomorrow."

Defensively, Luke Hinsley is standing by to replace Hotte while Phil Senior could get his chance in goal after the Jon Kennedy slip that allowed Curzon to bag their second goal on Monday.

Senior has started just two league games since arriving last summer, one of which was a 2-1 win at Trafford in August when he pulled off a fine save to secure the Shaymen's first win. The Town scorers that day were current caretaker management duo Steve Payne and Jemson.

Midfield duo Paul Evans and Damien Allen will play their final league games as they are both suspended for the last day trip to Chorley following their red cards at Ossett on Good Friday.
