Festival takes music all over Hebden Bridge

The whole community came together for the Hebden Bridge Folk Roots festival last weekend.

The festival of music, dance, spoken word and more took place across different venues throughout the town.

One of the venues, The Birchcliffe Centre, was run by Dave Boardman.

He said: “It was a real success all round, thank you to the Old Gate for the catering and Hebden Cars for providing their free taxis.

“Plus all our amazing performers who came and played, O’Hooley and Tidow, Plumhall, Jess Morgan, Celtarabia, Baghdaddies, Rod Clements and many more.

“The Real Cider Company made sure both customers and artists were refreshed throughout, as the festival drink of choice.”

People from all over descended on the town, including some from America, and they were welcomed by a large group of volunteers who helped the festival to run smoothly.

Brian Toberman, a committee member, said: “I want to say a big thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, performers, storytellers, photographers and the community who have supported the festival and made it their own.

“We have already started plans on next years and our Super Early birds are on sale now.”
