A CRITICALLY acclaimed documentary about drug and drink addiction in part of Calderdale is attracting interest from around the world.
Shed Your Tears and Walk Away – filmed in and around Hebden Bridge – is now on sale on DVD online and at several shops in Calderdale.
The film's creator Jez Lewis, who grew up in the town, said he has had people asking how they can buy the film from across the country and the globe.
Jez made the film in a bid to highlight the extent of addiction in the town, saying he was baffled by why so many of his friends from the area had died from drink, drugs or suicide.
Since its launch, the documentary has received praise from reviewers at several national newspapers.
There have been showings at Hebden Bridge Picture House, including one organised by Halifax and Calderdale Samaritans in the hope of strengthening links between different
organisations in the area who can offer support for people with drink and drug problems.
A forum held afterwards was filmed by the BBC and formed part of one of their Inside Out shows.
The film is available on DVD for 10 from Muse Music in Market Street, Hebden Bridge, The Bear Wholefood Co-operative in Rochdale Road, Todmorden, and Revo Records, Wesgate, Halifax.
It also available online at several sites including Amazon and Play.com.
