Fire teams rescue dog from car then man whose car crashed into wall on same street

FIREFIGHTERS on their way back from freeing a dog locked in a car were flagged down to help a man whose car crashed into a wall on the same street.

The team from Todmorden Fire Station had been called out at 8.30am this morning to release the dog trapped in a vehicle on Rochdale Road in Todmorden.

They were just setting off back to the station when they were stopped and asked to help a man whose Peugeot 106 had smashed into a wall on the opposite side of the road.

He had suffered minor injuries and they gave him first aid.
