Firefighters were called to a series of fires last night.
A crew from Elland attended a bonfire which had been started in Springfield Road, Elland, at around 8pm. The bonfire was on wasteland and included matresses and other bits of rubbish which had been set alight.
When the crew arrived a third of the bonfire had been lit but no one was around. The fire was put out which took the crew around 45 minutes.
Halifax and Brighouse crews were called to Wellesley Park Bowling Club, off Spring Hall Lane, Halifax, at around 8pm.
The bonfire had been started at the side of the bowling club. It caused damage to the front of the building and the roof.
