Crews from Halifax Fire Station attended a kitchen fire on Free School Lane, Halifax, last night.

They were called at 9.44pm to reports of a fire started in a pile of recycling.

Both pumps attended and the blaze was under control within minutes after firefighers with breathing apparatus entered the building.

All residents were out of the building when the crews arrived and there were no injuries although one person was later taken to hospital after suffering an asthma attack.

Firefighters used fans to clear the building of smoke. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
