Firm rings changes on buses

BUS services run by First across Calderdale will change on January 30.

The company says it wants to improve punctuality and reliability.

The 522/3 between Halifax and Illingworth will have a new timetable between 3pm and 4pm Monday to Friday.

The Sunday timetable for the 507 between Halifax and Claremount will be changed so departures will be at 12.25pm, 2.25pm, 4.25pm – five minutes later than before.

Managing director Ian Humphreys said: "They are changes that will help us improve journey times as well as reliability."

"This in turn will allow us to build on our recent announcement to freeze fares in the area and look to grow the number of people travelling on our buses."

Completely new timetables will drawn up for the following services:

590-4: Halifax-Hebden Bridge & The Calder Valley

508: Halifax-Shelf-Farsley-Leeds 521: Halifax-Cousin Lane-Illingworth 560: Halifax-Rishworth-Commons 571: Halifax-Southowram-Shelf-Bradford 579: Halifax-Sowerby Bridge-Sowerby
