A Sowerby Bridge school has received a boost from a bank.

Staff from Lloyds TSB in Trinity Road, Halifax, took part in “a day to make a difference” at Bolton Brow School.

The 16 Lloyds workers were assisted by a host of other businesses as they help to cut back overgrown sections of the playground.

A total of £225 was raised before the school grounds were made over.

Calder Valley Skip Hire, James Chambers, James Attwater Tree Surgeon, Wickes, John Foulds, Brighouse Pallet Services and Naylor Myers also contributed towards the clean-up.

Deputy principal of the school Paul Kelesidis said: “It was really really good.”
