A piece of Paralympic gold is now a part of Halifax town centre in honour of gold medallist Hannah Cockroft.
The post box outside Halifax Town Hall, Crossley Street, was given a makeover after the 20-year-old’s stunning victory in the final of the T34 100m.
Royal Mail is painting a post box in the home town of every gold medal winning Paralympian and producing a first class stamp in their honour.
The paint job took around four hours to complete with four coats of gold paint needed to achieve the golden finish.
People have already started to flock to the post box to have their pictures taken but there is no news if there will be a second box going gold should Hannah, from Mount Tabor, also win gold in the T34 200m final on Thursday.
