The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the River Calder after torrential rainfall.
The agency has placed the region on a three day flood forecast as rain continues to fall.
Rain water is expected to ease this morning (December 19) but is forecast to fall later this afternoon and continue throughout the evening and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
Temperatures reach a high of six degrees c from midday today until around 3pm.
Traffic is flowing throughout the region.
