Football - Division One: Pine stay unbeaten
FALCON Pine maintained their unbeaten record but were pushed hard by second placed Waiters Arms with both having to settle for a share of the spoils from a 3-3 draw.
Carrington Rangers were unable to take full advantage of Engineers being involved in the League Cup as they and Mount Tabor shared six goals in a thrilling encounter at Beechwood Park.
Carrington started strongly and dominated possession throughout the first-half. Robbie Graham and Liam Brook were pulling the strings in midfield and Danny Gerrard and Ste Binns lively up front.
Gerrard opened the scoring after calmly rounding the keeper and the home side scored their second courtesy of Brook's overhead kick.
Mount Tabor threw men forward and pulled one back, Daniel Willars scoring from close range.
Lewis Knagg and Gerrard missed a couple of great opportunities to extend Carrington's lead and they were punished when Matty Mason levelled from the penalty spot.
Carrington regained the lead when Matty Horsfall finished from a narrow angle.
Both Binns and Knagg could have secured the win for Carrington but, after Horsfall was harshly adjudged to have handled in the box, Mason scored his second penalty to complete the scoring.
Halifax Rangers enjoyed a rare day in the sun as they beat bottom club Brandy Wine 2-0 while Halifax Hammers beat Ovenden Amateurs 5-3.
Division Two
ODDFELLOWS leap-frogged Church Stile Stallions to head the table by one point after inflicting a 5-2 defeat on their promotion rivals.
Veryan Brooksby scored the only goal as Queens Head kept up their promotion push with a 1-0 win over Albert Rovers.
The result means that Queens are third, level on points with Stallions but with a game in hand.
Lee Brear, Gary Eastwood and Brooksby all went close in the first half and Brooksby netted the crucial goal in the second period.
Greystones SC secured a 5-0 success over Stubbing Wharf.
Greystones went close through, Scully, Morris and Sinclair but it took until the 25th minute for the breakthrough when Paulie Kemp fired home from the edge of the box.
Ten minutes later Sinclair picked out Morris on the edge of the box who turned the defender and fired home.
Pat Scully picked out the unmarked Boyle who scuffed the ball in and, after White pushed a shot on to the bar, substitute Wade scored a brace to complete victory.
