Only six points separate second placed Greetland and next to bottom Sowerby United in what looks likely to be themost keenly contested Premier Division race for many years.
Bottom of the table Halifax Irish Centre may look stranded with only two points so far, but with games in hand they will fancy themselves to climb the table.
And their first opportunity to get moving is a trip to Stainland United tomorrow.
Stainland are in fifth place, just eight points ahead of the Irish who have played two games fewer.
The Irish have been boosted by the return of Steve Galloway and the prolific marksman is already grabbing some goals.
A big win in last week's FA Cup clash with Stump Cross will have lifted confidence and should the West Vale based side manage their first league win of the campaign survival chances will look a lot brighter.
Hebden Royd Red Star, who have a 100 per cent record from five starts and top the table, travel to Warley Rangers and may not find it easy.
The second and third clubs clash at Greetland where Luddendenfoot are the visitors.
Greetland lost for the first time in 31 league games in their last outing and will be determined to bounce back while Steve Beattie's Luddendenfoot side will be just as keen to take all the points and advertise their title challenge.
Midgley United, despite lying in fourth place, cannot afford to drop many more points if they are to remain title challengers. They face a trip to Sowerby United, where a defeat could be disastrous.
Shelf United now look to be finding the form they showed last season. This coincides with the return of Paul Andrew from suspension. Shelf host Ryburn United and can come out on top.
Siddal Athletic have drawn four of their seven games so far and that has put them too close to the drop zone.
Elland United, who have yet to concede a goal on their travels, are next up for Siddal who may find it tough.
Holmfield are the leaders in what looks a wide open first division.
They travel to Martins Nest, who boast a 100 per cent home record and average six goals a game, for what may prove a very tricky test.
Second placed Hebden Royd Red Star Reserves take on fourth placed Mixenden United. Red Star may well prove too strong for their visitors.
Calder 76 suffered a surprise defeat in their last outing but have the chance to bounce back when they host bottom of the table Northowram.
Stump Cross travel to Brighouse OB and could return home three points better off while Salem will be looking to follow up their fine win over Calder 76 in their last game with a win over Denholme United.
Second Division leaders Sowerby Bridge visit near neighbours Engineers where despite still being undefeated, the Bridge can expect a tough test against their improving hosts.
Second placed Kingston FC face a real test when they take on Siddal Athletic Reserves while Halifax Irish Centre Reserves should have the edge on home soil against Warley Rangers Reserves and keep their title challenge going in the right direction.
Elland Allstars need the win against Shelf United Reserves to stay in touch with the promotion places.
Junction have yet to collect a point on home soil, but that can change against Stainland United Reserves.
Ryburn United Reserves are second from bottom and need to take something from the meeting with Copley United.
Undefeated AFC Crossleys have a one point advantage at the top of the third division and should at least maintain that when they travel to Midgley United Reserves.
The two biggest rivals to the leaders clash at Sowerby Bridge Reserves where Volunteer Arms are the visitors.
If any of the top three slip up, Luddendenfoot Reserves could take full advantage by winning against Wadsworth United.
Denholme United Reserves’ recent good form can continue when they host Sowerby United Reserves and Halifax Athletic can pour more gloom on Calder 76 Reserves.
