Football: Redfearn's new job with Leeds

SIMON Grayson will see tomorrow's trip to Hereford as a golden chance to maintain his impressive start as Leeds United boss.

The Elland Road men have ended a dismal run with a 1-1 draw against Leicester City and a 3-1 victory at Stockport on Sunday and Hereford have only Crewe Alexandra below them in the League One table.

Ex-Blackpool boss Grayson said: "It's been a fantastic start.

"More victories will see confidence and belief coming back."

Meanwhile, former Halifax Town boss Neil Redfearn has joined the Elland Road backroom staff.

The 43-year-old, who has also managed Scarborough and Northwich Victoria, is Leeds' new under-18 academy coach.

The former Barnsley and Charlton midfielder left his post as York City's assistant manager yesterday to take up his new role.

Leeds' current under-18 coach Daral Pugh moves up to assistant academy manager.

Three Leeds players will be in FA Cup action tomorrow.

Ian Westlake has been given permission to play for Cheltenham against Doncaster Rovers, Tresor Kandol for Millwall against Crewe Alexandra and keeper Alan Martin for Blue Square Premier side Barrow against Middlesbrough.
