A FORMER Rastrick boarding school worker has denied sexually abusing three boys.

Peter Merrick, pictured, 65, yesterday pleaded not guilty at Bradford Crown Court to 18 allegations including indecent assault, indecency with a child and buggery.

The charges date back almost 35 years and most relate to abuse which allegedly took place at William Henry Smith School in Rastrick.

Merrick, of Burton Road, Overseal, Derbyshire, is also accused of indecently assaulting one youngster during a camping trip.

He is due to stand trial on April 11 next year and was granted unconditional bail by the judge.

Merrick will return to the court next month for a pre-trial hearing.
