A former 19th century six-storey Halifax textile mill is in new hands after being sold at auction.
Martin’s Mill, Pellon Lane, was bought by an unnamed buyer for £170,000 at the Eddisons sale at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium.
It had been offered at a guide price of £150,000 plus.
The building has planning consent for 56 apartments and Eddisons said there may also be scope for demolition subject to planning.
Also sold was a tenanted convenience store on Victoria Road, Elland, which produces rental income of £12,000 per annum. It fetched £111,000.
And, a parcel of grazing land extending to over 5.3 acres in Ogden which had been offered on the instructions of Yorkshire Water at a guide of £20,000 plus, sold for £29,500.
Tony Webber of Eddisons said: “Demand was high for lots in all categories which meant the bidding was competitive. This helped drive prices up and reflected the positive market sentiment.’
Eddisons is preparing for another auction sale in Leeds on April 10.
