FAMILIES got cooking, crafting and exercising to celebrate the work a Calderdale school has done with a £10,000 funding grant.

For the last 12 months, Savile Park Primary School in Halifax has been offering classes in a host of subjects to the community thanks to the cash from the Big Lottery Fund.

The school has been awarded a gold award for extended service.

To mark the success of the classes, the school held an open day attended by 100 children and their parents.

Activities on offer included archery, cooking and crafts.
