HEBDEN Bridge’s annual Handmade Parade festitivies kick off tomorrow with a Spark Day at the Holme Street Arts Centre.
Organisers want as many people as possible to drop in with their bright ideas for this year’s event - the crazier the better.
The day promises to be fun for all the family, with a mini-workshop, live music, a huge “draw an idea” space, and some visiting characters from previous parades.
It starts at 11am and there will be the chance for anyone who wants to put forward and talk through ideas to do so at 2pm.
The parade, now in its fifth year, will begin at 2pm on Saturday June 23 and will wind its way through town to Calder Holmes Park for a spectacular finale.
Workshops will be held from June 2 to 21 for anyone who wants to get involved in creating parade art, giant puppets or costumes.
There will also be classes for teenagers and adults who want to learn a new skill, from stilt-walking to making willow sculptures or joining samba or street brass bands.
