Three local charities are in line for a cash boost thanks to a beer festival.

The finishing touches are being put to the plans for the second Rastrick Beer Festival, which is being staged in the community hall at St John’s Church, Rastrick on September 21 and 22.

Last year’s event raised much needed funds for both St John’s and three local charities and attracted dozens of visitors from all parts of Calderdale and Kirklees and from much further afield as well.

The opening of this second festival on Friday, September 21, runs from 3pm until 10.30pm and the Saturday, September 22 session, will be from 11.30am until 10.30pm.

Organiser Roger Ellis said: “We learned a lot from our first festival, it was a steep learning curve for all of us.

“But once again we are working hard to make sure we shall put into practice all that we learned so that we can go forward and make this second festival just as successful and enjoyable,” he said.
