A memorial tree is to take centre stage at Co-operative Funeralcare in Brighouse this Christmas to help bereaved members of the local community remember their loved ones during the festive season.

Friends and family who have lost someone are being invited to the funeral home to decorate the tree with cards in memory of their loved one.

Jared Barker, manager at Co-operative Funeralcare, explained: “Christmas can be an extremely difficult and painful time for families and this is the ninth year we have offered a memorial tree in honour of those no longer with us. It has always proved to be a great help for bereaved relatives and friends.

“We know that Christmas and New Year, in particular, are a time when people look back and remember those they’ve lost. We hope our memorial Christmas tree will again help families to make a tribute to their loved ones at this difficult time.”

Co-operative Funeralcare is open from 8.30am until 5.00pm and people will be able to leave memorial cards on the tree right up until December 24.
