Pupils in Queensbury will enjoy an exciting new learning environment thanks to a grant from a Halifax-based recycling specialist.

Leo Group’s Community Fund has donated a cash grant to Shibden Head Primary Academy to develop its playgrounds.

The grant, worth £1,692, will help create a vibrant outdoor learning environment for its reception and year 1 pupils, enabling the children to learn through play in an alternative learning space.

Mrs Sarah Thornton, Shibden Head Primary Academy’s headteacher, said: “We are thrilled that our application to Leo Group’s Community Fund has been successful and are very grateful for the company’s support.

“The planned improvements will greatly enhance the outdoor learning environment.”

Leo Group’s Community Fund supports local charities and grassroots organisations across Calderdale and Bradford - the fund is just one aspect of the group’s community work.”

The group operates 14 sites across the UK and Europe and is at the forefront of recycling and green energy.
