Calderdale Parent & Carer’s Council are holding a charity gig night to raise vital funds for their charity.

The Halifax-based group, which has 350 members, supports families and carers of disabled children and young people by giving practical and emotional support.

They are currently celebrating their tenth birthday.

As well as organising coffee mornings, information sessions and events for families, they offer training for parents to become befrienders, trainers, advisers and supporters.

On August 5 the group will hold a gig at The Venue, Barkisland where The Tantrums and guests will be playing indie and rock to get the party started.

After them, a DJ will be providing the party atmosphere so there will be something for all musical tastes and ages.

The venue is fully accessible for wheelchairs.

Tickets are £5 from skiddle.com or £6 on the door.

All funds raised will help to ensure that we are here for the families who need them well into the future.
