Conscientious businesses across Calderdale have given their support to the Courier Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
Participating outlets throughout the valley have backed the campaign to make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate, this Christmas.
Because of you, thousands of vulnerable children and adults across the region will receive a shoebox of gifts on Christmas day.
The Shoebox Appeal went live on October 18 and since then the Courier, Harveys, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, T S Moodies in Halifax and Tesco in Brighouse, Morrisons in Elland, The Co-operative in Hebden Bridge, Tesco in Sowerby Bridge and Morrisons, Todmorden, have been supplied with shoeboxes ready for your collection. We need your support to make a difference.
Harveys Cookshop supervisor Sharon Clegg said: “We’ve had a bit of a slow start but after receiving 50 we will need to order more as we’re down to 19 shoeboxes. I’ve advised warm clothing accessories for adults as last year there was a surplus of toys.”
Asda Halifax’s community champion Amanda Clegg said there’s lots of shoeboxes waiting for collection in-store.
Kindness and generosity doesn’t have to cost much - boxes can be filled with any unwanted gifts you have around the house.
Please think of others this Christmas and fill a shoebox with what you can for someone less fortunate than you.
