Police are appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Huddersfield.

At 2.30am on Sunday, November 2, the teenager was walking alone along Bankfield Road when she was approached by an Asian male who got out of a black, four-door car.

The victim tried to walk away but the suspect grabbed her and pulled her back.

He then subjected her to a sexual assault.

The suspect then got back into the car and drove off towards Manchester Road, heading away from the town centre.

The suspect is described as tall, aged around 24-years-old, with black short hair, a short beard and a moustache. He was wearing a black top with grey sleeves, jeans and trainers.

PC Samantha Baker, of Kirklees Child Safeguarding Team, said: “Even though this attack occurred in the early hours of the morning we are hopeful that somebody may have witnessed it and will have information that can help our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kirklees Child Safeguarding Team on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
