The grandmother of a teenage boy who was diagnosed with a rare cancer when doctors discovered a tumour after a fall at work held a charity stall to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Patsy Hardy, of Southowram, and friends, pictured, sold various bric-a-brac items on the Halifax town centre mayor’s stall to raise money for the charity which has helped her grandson William Binns, 20, after he was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma at the age of 19.

Patsy said: “We had fun doing it and all our punters were happy and got some great bargains - one person’s trash is another’s treasure.”

Along with the help of friends and nephew Nick Hardy, the team raised over £900 for their chosen charity.
