Tickets are selling like hotcakes for Calder Valley Youth Theatre’s production of Cats.

The company says half the tickets have already gone for the performances at Halifax Playhouse from November 14 to November 17, with the Saturday night and opening night almost sold out.

As reported by the Courier, actor and mountaineer Brian Blessed will be the guest of honour on opening night.

Brian appeared in the original cast when the show was performed in London’s West End in 1981, playing Old Deuteronomy.

The young thespians are busy getting ready at their new rehearsal space in Hebden Bridge Town Hall.

Cats will be performed every night between Wednesday, November 14 and Saturday, November 17 at 7.45pm with a matiness on the Saturday at 2.15pm.
