A giant from Halifax is being touted to enter the Big Brother house for the 2013 series.

Lydon Sutcliffe, 25 - who is 7ft 1in tall - applied to take part in the Channel 5 series and took part in an intensive interview process this weekend.

He fears he may not have been successful but today the Daily Star has named him as a possible contestant in this year’s series.

And now Lydon’s friends and family have lauched a Facebook campaign to get him into the house.

The former Mount Pellon School and Sowerby Bridge High School pupil said: “I’m officially classed as a giant, because I’m over 7ft tall. I entered because I thought I’d have a chance of being the tallest contestant ever.”

He said he was amazed to see his photo in the Daily Star today linking him with the programme - and has been “blown away” by the support on Facebook.

The ’Get Mr High (lydon Sutcliffe) On Big Brother 2013!’ group attracted over 1,300 members in the first couple of hours.

“Everyone’s putting nice comments about me, trying to get me into the house. It feels proper nice - I’m properly blown away by it.”

Lydon left Halifax to work as a groundsman, working at Wimbledon and the Olympics.

He now splits his time between Blackpool, London - where he models tall clothes - and Halifax.
