Halifax man admits sex abuse dating back 30 years

A HALIFAX man admitted sexually abusing boys up to 30 years ago.

James Saville Hartley, 48, pleaded guilty to 17 sex charges dating from 1981 to 1989.

They include four counts of indecently assaulting one child and two of inciting the boy to commit gross indecency with him. The abuse took place when the victim was aged between six and 12. Four counts of sexual assault relate to another boy who was under 16, as well as five counts of inciting him to commit gross indecency. He also indecently assaulted an eight-year-old boy by kissing him, Bradford Crown Court heard.

Hartley, of Moorside Gardens in Ovenden, Halifax, will be sentenced on January 13.
